The City of Stillwater (Okla.) operates under a council-manager system. In this form of government, an elected city council is responsible for making policy, passing ordinances and approving the city’s budget. The council appoints a city manager who implements the policies adopted by the council. Citizens are encouraged to be an active participant in local government. City of Stillwater Budget Fair Recap: July 22, 2013
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Posted July 23, 2013) - The City of Stillwater hosted a budget fair on Monday, July 22, 2013, to give citizens a chance to learn about and ask questions regarding the City's fiscal year 2014 budget.
Managers from all city departments were present to answer questions and explain their department's plans for the fiscal year 2014. City Manager Dan Galloway, Mayor John Bartley, Vice Mayor Chuck Hopkins and City Councilors Gina Noble, Cody Scott and Joe Weaver were also in attendance to speak with residents about the approved budget.

The budget fair had a successful turnout of residents and the event provided an opportunity for city officials and citizens to discuss and comment on the City's financial future for the coming year.
The budget fair was held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Lowry Activity Center at the City of Stillwater Community Center, 315 W. Eighth Ave.
